Ever since you saw Point Break you knew sooner or later that you’d have to give it a go. This year you’re taking a holiday in Mayo, not Hawaii. Keel Beach is the perfect safe place to learn to surf, or to hone your skills. A gently sloping beach that is exposed to waves travelling from the south and west means that we have surf of some sort almost all year!
Blackfield Watersports is Achill Island’s original Irish Surfing Association approved surf school, and is the perfect place for an unforgettable Wild Atlantic Way experience! From May until September, we run lessons for adults, kids and all types of groups from hens and stags to scouts and schools. We also run a surf camp from Monday to Friday in July and August.
