Where to find Blackfield Surf School.
In summertime we are located right on the edge of Keel beach,almost but not quite on the sand! (See the map below) To get into the water on one of the world’s finest beginner surf beaches, you have a very short walk (or a very,very short walk if the tide is high) straight from the surf school into the surf.
To reach us from Westport or Castlebar you just have to follow the R319 (the main road that runs through the island) as far as Keel campsite and then turn left towards the sea.We are straight ahead, you’ll see our flags and boards and building.
There’s plenty of parking at the beach, the easiest is to turn left at the junction near the lifeguard hut, and drive to the stone car park just a few meters from Blackfield Surf School.
